It is possible to apply decorative plating to PA (polyamide) resin, commonly known as "nylon" resin, which is widely used as engineering plastic. Plating on resin is typically done on ABS resin, and the methods are well known. Nylon resin has a higher heat resistance, as well as superior wear resistance and impact resistance compared to ABS resin, making its applications broad; however, there have been many issues regarding the adhesion and aesthetic design of the plating.
